4-6-0 Steam Locomotive 08
ET&CC stands for East Tennessee and Central Carolina. That is the railroad this locomotive belongs to.
The locomotive is a wood burner, and it has air brakes, slotted knuckle couplings, balloon stack, and it is superheated.
The ET&CC is a merger of East Tennessee and Western North Carolina Railroad, and the Central Carolina Railroad (both of which were narrow gauge), by the state of North Carolina after WWII so the people formerly "served," by the railroads would have their railroad.
The railroad decided to buy and upgrade old steam locomotives, for it,s motive power, most money went to rebuilding the washed out track and building the loops to connect the two railroads.
Though most of the railroad remains narrow gauge #15 is standard gauge. The railroad has a lot of 2nd hand cars that have link and pin couplings so the locomotive has a slotted knuckle coupling, that also swings to the side to align with the narrow gauge cars.
The Locomotive is SRCs today.
